Abstract

This study reports the process and characterization of the target compound. The proposed mechanism begins with Friedel-Crafts acylation of 1-phenylethanol, followed by hydrolysis, then amine condensation, and lastly oxidation. Characterization is carried out by H1-NMR, TLC-Mass Spec, and IR Spec. This compound has invoked interest because of the potential to pass the blood-brain barrier and treat neurological disorders based on physical properties of the molecule.
