Abstract

This project involves researching which dressing is most beneficial to patients with pressure ulcers. I will be comparing hydrocolloid dressings to collagen dressings. The focus of the literature review was to compare the efficacy and cost of the two dressings. This was done by examining peer reviewed journals of extensive studies done on each dressing. Based on this literature review, hydrocolloid dressings are superior to collagen dressings as well as being more economical. The hydrocolloid dressing also allows for ease of application and monitoring the dressing site.
