Abstract

This poster demonstrates the importance of strong student leadership as a method for inclusion and experiential learning to help create building blocks of an effective foundation of student support, advocacy, and integration for international student success. Learners will be able to identify how a strong mix of student leaders helps to create a foundation of inclusion and dynamic leadership within orientation programs. Poster includes qualitative statistics of student participation including targeted support service data. Quantitative data reflecting number of students, constituencies, and program participation will highlight the critical role that inclusion and dynamic student leadership play in successful orientation programs. Also included is qualitative statistics on orientation leader models, as well as testimonials from leaders themselves. Presenters will share experiential evidence on successes, failures, lessons learned, and unique initiatives of previous and upcoming orientation programs.
