Abstract

The history of Franco-Americans is filled with hardships and hope, but is often invisible from many studies and books. My goal was to create an event that brings people together, whether they are Franco-American or not, and educate some on the history of the French in the U.S. From discrimination, to traditions, to food and music, there is much to learn about Franco-Americans and their history. Let me take you on a walk through it all. My presentation will showcase how I came up with my idea, created my event, and the results from hosting the event on campus, as well as some of the information that was presented at the event.
