Event Title

How a Growth Mindset Toward Learning is Enabled or Disabled

Presenter Information

Deborah Brownstein

Abstract

PSU’s new student orientation encouraged students to adopt a growth mindset toward learning. Having a growth mindset empowers our students to take on challenges and become lifelong learners. What can we do to help foster students’ growth mindsets? Even with the best of intentions, how might we accidentally disable the development of growth mindsets in our students? In this interactive workshop for faculty and staff, new research findings are brought to light that have implications for how we work with students.
